MadREP also hosted Administrator Sam Rikkers, USDA National Director of Rural Development and his staff on May 13th. He was the keynote speaker for the 85 member IMCP consortium meeting in the afternoon. During his day long visit, we toured Cress Bakery in Blue Mounds (REAP solar grant recipient), Wisconsin Innovation Kitchen in Mineral Point (co-packing facility that will be expanding), and the UW Center for Dairy Research in Madison (targeted national center of excellence for dairy and beverage manufacturing),
We also reviewed program initiatives for the Madison Public Market project with City staff and leadership and the Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship program with their business advisors.
